ChatNet 2.0 Braking Changes

As part of our major upgrade to ChatNet 2.0, we’ve made significant changes to streamline the system and remove outdated or redundant features. This version includes breaking changes that may affect existing configurations or the visual presentation of the chat interface.

Warning:

If you rely on any of the below features and want to continue using them, we strongly recommend staying on ChatNet 1.11.
These features have been permanently removed and will not be added back in future releases of ChatNet.

⚙️ Dashboard > Settings > Chat Settings

Removed Options:

This option has been removed to simplify user list filtering logic.

This toggle is no longer available. Room/group chat handling is now unified and streamlined across all modes.

🎨 Dashboard > Appearance > Images

Removed:

These options were part of the old homepage customization system, which is no longer supported in ChatNet 2.0. The new frontend is consists of a new banner slider section. 

🎨 Dashboard > Appearance > Theme

Removed Themes from Default Frontend Theme:

These themes relied on legacy layout systems and are no longer compatible with the new design structure in ChatNet 2.0.

Removed Layout Option:

The chat interface now uses a modern, fully responsive layout without boxed container support.

🏠 Dashboard > Settings > Homepage

Removed Settings:

ChatNet 2.0 deprecates the legacy homepage. These fields are no longer used and have been removed for clarity. 

🚫 Removal of Room Embedding

The room embedding feature has been fully removed in ChatNet 2.0. Chat rooms can no longer be embedded into third-party websites.

😀 Emoji System Overhaul


We’ve completely removed the old emoji system.

Old emoji will now appear as shortcodes such as :tongue-out: in chat and will not be rendered as images or Unicode emojis.If you are using old chat data, you may see raw shortcodes instead of emojis.

🚨New Structural Change: Introduction of Channels in Rooms


In ChatNet 2.0, we are introducing a mandatory Channels feature inside Rooms.

This change improves organization, scalability, and sets the foundation for future chat features.

What Happens to Existing Rooms?


Older versions of ChatNet did not have channels—only rooms. During the update to 2.0:
